Life Greatest Gift

Life Greatest Gift

By Leota Muschette-Vassell

April 12,2026.

Life is one of the greatest gifts we have been given. It is a journey filled with beautiful moments, unexpected challenges, lessons, growth, and change.

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, life is defined as:

“The condition that distinguishes animals and plants from inorganic matter, including the capacity for growth, reproduction, functional activity, and continual change preceding death.”

Life comes with its share of ups and downs, yet we must remain focused on our goals, purpose, and God-given destiny.

There are moments when I pause and ask myself, “Why me? Why am I carrying so much?” Sometimes, the things we pray for seem to take longer than expected. We may even wonder whether the answers will ever come.

Yet I have learned that waiting does not mean God has forgotten us.

Through prayer, worship, fasting, and remaining rooted in the Word of God, I find the strength to keep moving forward. When we allow God to lead us, He can give us strength even during seasons we do not understand.

Be Thankful for the Gift of Life

Every day, I remind myself that many people did not wake up to see another morning. Some are battling illness. Others are struggling emotionally or mentally. Some are searching for peace, direction, hope, or purpose.

That is why I choose to thank God for the simple yet profound gift of life.

The fact that we opened our eyes this morning is something worth being grateful for.

We may not have everything we desire, and our circumstances may not always be perfect, but every new day gives us another opportunity to pray, love, grow, learn, serve, forgive, and pursue our purpose.

We have one life to live, so let us embrace it.

Live each day with purpose and intention. Do not take tomorrow for granted. Most importantly, make it a priority to be right with God.

Your relationship with Him matters deeply.

God desires your time, your heart, your worship, your obedience, and your honesty.

The Importance of Communication with God

Communication with God is essential to our spiritual growth.

The Psalmist declared:

Psalm 19:14 (KJV)

“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.”

Prayer allows us to communicate with God. It is an opportunity to bring our worries, dreams, questions, struggles, thanksgiving, and desires before Him.

God knew us before we were born. Jeremiah 1:5 reminds us:

“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee, and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee…”

God knows our past, sees our present, and knows what lies ahead.

Even when we cannot understand what is happening in our lives, we can choose to trust Him.

When we communicate with God and remain sensitive to His leading, He can give our lives direction, peace, wisdom, and clarity.

Every Life Matters

Life is sacred.

Life is God-breathed.

Genesis 2:7 (KJV) says:

“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

Our lives have value because God created us.

Your life matters.

Your story matters.

Your purpose matters.

Even when you feel overlooked, forgotten, discouraged, or uncertain about your future, remember that your life has meaning.

Do not allow difficult seasons to convince you that your life has no purpose. Sometimes the very season that feels like a setback can become a season of growth, preparation, and transformation.

Treasure Every Moment

Life can change quickly.

Therefore, treasure the moments you have today. Appreciate your family. Encourage someone. Forgive when necessary. Laugh. Pray. Worship. Serve others. Pursue your dreams. Learn from your mistakes.

Do not wait until everything is perfect before you choose to appreciate life.

As Gretchen Bleiler wisely stated:

“Life is short, and if we enjoy a moment every day, then we will be happy no matter what happens or what changes along the way.”

Take time to appreciate the small things the sunrise, a conversation with someone you love, a child’s smile, an answered prayer, a peaceful moment, or simply the ability to wake up and try again.

Final Thoughts

Life will not always be easy.

There will be seasons of joy and seasons of tears. There will be victories and disappointments, beginnings and endings, waiting seasons and breakthrough seasons.

But through it all, God remains faithful.

So, treasure the breath in your lungs.

Celebrate each moment—big and small.

Keep praying.

Keep believing.

Keep trusting God.

And most importantly, walk with God daily.

Your life is a gift. Live it with purpose.

Springtime and the Unchanging God

Springtime and the Unchanging God Spring is a beautiful reminder that seasons change. The cold of winter gives way to warmth, flowers begin to bloom, and new life emerges all around us. It is a time of renewal, growth, and fresh beginnings. Just as nature transitions through seasons, so do we in our own lives. “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1 (KJV) There are seasons when everything feels like it’s flourishing doors open, prayers are answered, and joy is evident. Then there are seasons of waiting, uncertainty, or even hardship, where things may seem still or unclear. Each season carries its own purpose, even when we don’t fully understand it at the time. What brings comfort and assurance is this truth: while seasons change, God never does. His love remains constant. His promises are sure. His presence is steady. “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”  Hebrews 13:8 (KJV) “For I am the Lord,...

Family, Marriage, and Faith: The Foundation of a Godly Society

Family, Marriage, and Faith: The Foundation of a Godly Society Family is one of God’s greatest designs for humanity. It is the first institution He established, and it remains the backbone of the church, the community, and the world. Strong families build strong churches. Strong churches influence strong nations. At the center of it all is God’s perfect design for marriage—the foundation upon which the family is built. God’s Design for Marriage Marriage is not just a social agreement; it is a divine covenant established by God. From the beginning, God created man and woman to come together in unity, love, and purpose. “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” — Genesis 2:24 (KJV) This scripture reveals the heart of God for marriage: unity, commitment, and lifelong partnership. Marriage is the foundation upon which stable families are built. When marriage is strong, children are nurtured in love, stability, and ...

“The Yellow Notebook: My First Vision in 2008”

The Yellow Notebook: My First Vision in 2008 By Leota Vassell Bsc  (Social Work) Why I Write https://youtube.com/shorts/uylJ8_Ov38E?is=wJYf_SckpEIl_kC7 I often ask myself, “Why do I write?” When I look back over my life, I realize that writing has been a part of my journey for many years. Long before I started this blog, before I understood the importance of documenting my thoughts, dreams, prayers, and experiences, there was a little yellow notebook. That notebook takes me back to 2008. At that time, I was younger and still discovering who I was, what I wanted from life, and what God had planned for me. I did not fully understand the significance of writing my thoughts and dreams down. I knew that there were things inside of me that I wanted to see become reality. So I wrote them down. I wrote about my dreams. I wrote about the things I desired. I wrote about the future I hoped for. I wrote what I believed could become possible. Looking back now, I realize that the little yellow n...
